DAY 1 Fly to Los Angeles
On arrival make your way to your hotel where you will meet your tour director .
DAY 2 Los Angeles / Phoenix
Your journey begins as you travel through Palm Springs , the winter playground for Hollywood royalty , with its lively downtown and immaculate golf courses at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains . Continue through Indio in the Coachella Valley and onwards to Phoenix .
DAY 3 Phoenix / Grand Canyon
Travel through the Sonoran Desert , the richest and most biologically diverse desert ecosystem in the Americas . Continue to Sedona , a city situated in a unique geological area and encircled by distinctive red rock monoliths with names such as Cathedral and Coffee Pot . Drive onwards through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon before you reach Grand Canyon National Park , one of the seven great natural wonders of the world . Stop at the rim to fully experience this mile-deep canyon ’ s plunging gorges and rising spires formed by the mighty Colorado River .
DAY 4 Grand Canyon / Page
Enter the Navajo Indian Reservation passing the trading post of Cameron . Continue through the Painted Desert and the region of Monument Valley , an area that perhaps embodies the most iconic images of the American West . In the late afternoon , enter the town of Page , situated on a mesa above the Colorado River .
DAY 5 Page / Bryce Canyon
Visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam , the second highest concrete-arch dam in America . From here soak up views of stunning Lake Powell where crystal blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls . Travel on through Kanab in Utah before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon . This evening , weather permitting , gaze up at the night sky as it fills with sparkling stars and brilliant constellations .
DAY 6 Bryce Canyon / Las Vegas
Travel to Zion National Park to see the massive rock formations carved by wind , time and the Virgin River . This afternoon , experience the contrast of Las Vegas , the dazzling ‘ entertainment capital of the world ’, where round-the-clock shopping , extraordinary shows and , of course , gambling are all on tap .
DAY 7 Las Vegas
At leisure . Be sure to stroll along The Strip marvelling at the mega resorts , take a ride on the High Roller or explore downtown Las Vegas . If time allows take in a show , browse the shops and try your luck at the casinos .
DAY 8 Las Vegas / Mammoth Lakes *
Stop at the iconic Las Vegas sign for the chance to capture a photographic memory of Sin City . Your journey continues to the quiet and extreme environment of Death Valley , where you ’ ll stop at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch / Visitors Centre . Drive onwards across the valley and ascend the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes . The area gained prominence as a gold mining town in the 19th century while today , it is renowned for its superior skiing terrain and staggeringly beautiful mountain vistas .
DAY 9 Mammoth Lakes / Modesto
Today ’ s journey brings you to the Tioga Pass and into the scenic wonderland of Yosemite National Park . Here , you will experience the valley floor and its splendours including the glacial-shaped granite formations of El Capitan , Half Dome , the magnificent Bridal Falls and Yosemite Falls . Continue on to nearby Modesto .
DAY 10 Modesto / San Francisco
Depart early this morning for San Francisco , one of the most beloved cities in America . You ’ ll then embark on a comprehensive sightseeing tour showing you all the major landmarks , before arriving at your hotel .
DAY 11 San Francisco :
Your tour concludes as you make your way to the airport for your onward journey .
