DAY 1 Fly to Denver On arrival collect your car and head to your hotel .
DAY 2 Denver / Steamboat Springs
Explore Rocky Mountain National Park before crossing the Continental Divide of the Rockies and making your way to the quaint ski resort of Steamboat Springs ( 160 miles ).
DAY 3 Steamboat Springs / Rock Springs
Enter Dinosaur National Monument at the Colorado / Utah border and visit Dinosaur Quarry , which has produced more skeletons , skulls and bones of dinosaurs than any other dig in the world . Marvel at these remarkable fossil deposits , some as old as 140 million years , then continue on to the Flaming Gorge , Red Canyon and Rock Springs ( 280 miles ).
DAY 4 Rock Springs / Jackson
Travel along the Wind River Gorge and then north over the high chaparral of Wyoming to Jackson . If time allows explore the old-fashioned town square ( 190 miles ).
DAY 5 Jackson / Yellowstone National Park
Today ’ s short drive allows you to leisurely explore Grand Teton National Park . In Yellowstone discover the diverse geothermal features of America ’ s first national park . Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs are the park ’ s most famous sights along with the freely roaming wildlife , such as bison , deer , elk , moose and even bear ( 80 miles ).
DAY 6 Yellowstone National Park / Salt Lake City
Cross a small portion of Idaho en route to the Mormon state of Utah and its capital , Salt Lake City . Don ’ t miss the famed Temple and the Tabernacle ( 350 miles ).
DAY 7 Salt Lake City / Bryce Canyon National Park
Traverse the Wasatch Mountain Range to reach southern Utah ’ s natural wonders . Visit Bryce Canyon National Park to view its fanciful spires and rock formations ( 250 miles ).
DAY 8 Bryce Canyon National Park
You have a full day to further explore Bryce Canyon National Park . Alternatively , Zion National Park is just a short drive away and has some of the world ’ s most incredible sandstone formations formed millions of years ago by the powerful hand of nature .

DAY 9 Bryce Canyon NP / Page
Drive east via Kanab to Page , where the red desert meets deep blue Lake Powell ( 120 miles ).
DAY 10 Page / Cortez
Leave early to explore the Navajo Indian Reservation , the trading post of Cameron , and drive through the Painted Desert to beautiful Monument Valley ’ s red sandstone spires and monoliths . Continue to Cortez ( 280 miles ).
DAY 11 Cortez / Durango
Depart for the ruins of Mesa Verde , established to “ preserve the works of man ,” the first national park of its kind . Continue to the charming old gold-mining town of Durango ( 80 miles ).
DAY 12 Durango / Taos
Absorb the magnificent scenery as you stroll Durango ’ s Main Street which is lined with southwestern boutiques . After leaving Durango , pass Pagosa Springs en route to New Mexico , The Land of Enchantment and then onward to the artist ’ s colony of Taos ( 200 miles ).
DAY 13 Taos
Explore the remarkable Taos Indian Pueblo , a virtually unchanged village inhabited for over 800 years by as many as 1,400 Taos Indians . Later , drive south to Santa Fe , the oldest capital city in the United States , and enjoy the unique atmosphere which has made Santa Fe a mecca for artists . Return to Taos .
DAY 14 Taos / Denver
Head north through New Mexico into the state of Colorado . The mountainous terrain of Colorado will surround you , providing panoramic scenery en route to Denver , where on arrival you may wish to visit historic Larimer Square in downtown ( 310 miles ).
DAY 15 Denver Return your car at the airport and your tour concludes .
