I have been working with the Labyrinth for 23 years. My work, Circleway;
with its Women's Dream Quests and Pilgrimages to Chartres has used the
labyrinth as a symbol of alchemical transformation. I have also used it in my
work with individuals on their own journeys of soul purpose.
I think that the
labyrinth
describes my
life.

I have given myself over to the sacred path that takes me where it will, always
with the goal of coming to center. Along the way there have been twists and
turns, times of sorrow along with the times of celebration, but over and over
again, my faith in the path has kept me moving and dancing. I know this path
in my soul, in my body and in this way I know the divine.
I see the labyrinth as a ground of being inscribed with a path that gives
context to the joys and struggles of life. It diagrams the possibilities of turning
and returning again, of trusting the path to take us home and of containing the
ebbs and flows of life’s experiences. It teaches about relationship; about
encountering, passing, being passed by others and about meeting another
person at the edge or in the center of life.
The Walk is THREEFOLD.
The impulse to go in, let go, perhaps ask a question is one experience.
The stillness in the center and what transpires in the realm of
contemplation is the second.
Finally, the outward journey helps to digest the experience of
receiving guidance in the center and gives us the opportunity to see how to put
the inner counsel we receive into action.
