Because the walk has duration and a familiar form, it invites our psyche to relax into the knowledge that we can return again and again. Because it is beautiful and round, has six symbolic petals, and has history, the labyrinth gives our busy minds something to chew on. Veriditas labyrinth © VERIDITAS There are many ways to use the sacred geometry of the labyrinth. Walking a stone labyrinth in a sacred space like Chartres Cathedral or its replica at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco is one. Another is draw one in the sand at the beach or even to use your finger to trace the path on a piece of paper. In each case we enter into the alchemical practice of letting go, purifying, receiving the divine inspiration and beholding the transformation of thought, feeling or belief. I know that in my life with its pilgrimages and wanderings, I am always pleased to use the twists and turns of the path to distill the essence of my experience, to balance the dark and light, to add the magical ingredient of awareness to find at the center, my next horizon, my next assignment. - Judith Tripp Judith’s home labyrinth © Judith Tripp 11
