Finding Her Creative Voice: Elaine Green’ s Artistic Journey

Following a Lifelong Passion for Illustration
From an early age, Elaine Green was captivated by art, inspired by her grandfather and the colourful illustrations in children’ s books.
After leaving school early, she thought her creative dreams were out of reach, until she returned to education in 2017 as a mature student at Fife College.
Elaine began with HNC Art and Design in Kirkcaldy, followed by HNC Graphic Design and Visual Communication in Glenrothes, and finally an HND in Jewellery Design. Through exploring different creative paths, she rediscovered her true passion for illustration.
In 2022, Elaine achieved a major milestone when she was accepted to study Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art. Now entering her final year, she has already self-published her first children’ s book, The Sock in Search of His Soul, and continues to design bespoke jewellery and take on creative commissions.
Elaine opened her new public design studio, Studio 2 Original, in summer 2025 which is a space for workshops, exhibitions, and future projects exploring the link between creativity and wellbeing.
Elaine’ s advice:“ Stay curious, keep learning, and never stop believing in your creative potential.”
