Altitude 2497 COSFORD SQUADRON We then went to the battle of Britain memorial flight. We got a ‘back stage pass’ and got to go past the barriers and go right up to the airplanes. One group’s tour guide was an ex-Lancaster pilot and whilst we were forming up he actually took the parade! After tea we did the bleep test and a mini workout. This was…enjoyable… On Wednesday we took a tour around air traffic control. In this we learnt about what equipment the controllers used and how the airfield works. We then went to a building where they make the survival gear found in ejection seats. Later on a few of us got to try out the king air simulators, this was really fun and it looked really realistic. On Thursday we went shooting at R.A.F Digby. There was no. 8 shooting in the morning and L98 A2 shooting in the afternoon. Many of us got our weapons handling tests in the period in-between shoots. After lunch some people went to a museum on the base. Our last full day had to be the best day though and it got better as the day went on. We started off with a bit of drill and padres hour, these weren’t the best but after that we had the fire section visit. In this the fire crews got out their hose and let us do whatever we wanted with it. So we were all drenched when we came back, and after a shower we were greeted with a drill competition, (which my flight unfortunately lost) and final parade. Finally, our last activity was the disco. The disco will always be remembered for Cadet Blackshaw’s dancing and ‘table incident’. Our final day came and with it, came a lot of cleaning and packing. This was for our final room inspection so we could hand it over to the next lot of cadets who would be staying in it the week after. At 1 O’clock the bus came and we left. Going to summer camp has been one of the best experiences in my life and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Thanks for picking me to go on it.” Thank you to cadet Bentley for that report. Glad you had a good time. Message from the Commandant “As I assume command of the Air Cadet Organisation today, I wish you all to know how very proud I am to have been given the privilege of leading such an amazing national uniformed youth organisation. I aspired to this appointment when serving as a Regular RAF officer and I am delighted to have the opportunity to return to uniform as an RAF Full Time Reservist and work with you all in delivering a cadet experience that is second-to-none. I am acutely conscious that, wi F?6????6FWG2?f??V?FVW'2?B7FfbF?7W'6VB6?v?FV?7&?72F?RT???B?fW'6V2??Bv???F?R6??R6??6?FW&&?RF??Rf? ??RF??VWB????b??R?B????rF?BWfV?v?F??f?W"?V"76?v??V?B?VB?b?R?F?W&R??&P?6??RV??G2??73?'WB?Bv??wB&Rf?"v?B?bG'???r???&??6R???b??RF?B?v???F??&W7BF?f?6?B??R??F?6VR6FWG2??7F????BF?7W?'B?BF???F?P?F??W6?G2?bf??V?FVW'2?B7Ffbv????RF?R6FW@?W?W&?V?6R?76?&?R??GW&???v?V??6???B?VW@???R??W'6????v???V?FVf?W"F?V?7W&R7G&??r?@?VffV7F?fR6???V??6F???W?BF?v?F?R6????@?6???6?????rv?B?26W6??r6??6W&??"7G&W72@?7VG&???v??r?"&Vv?????WfV??B6?v?&?v?F??F?R???"6????B?B??B7Ffg2F?&W&W6V?@?F?R?"6FWBW'7V7F?fRF?F?R&W7B?b?&??G????6?v&RF?BvR?fR??6???V?v??rF??W2?@?F?B?WfV?v?F?V?&V6VFV?FVBv?fW&??V?B?B?F????7W?'Bf?"??WF??&v??6F???2?FVfV?6RG&?6f?&?F????BF?R?VVBf?"'VFvWF'?&W7G&??Bv??????7B??v?BvRF??B??rvRF??B?vRv?????VVBF?&W7??BF??&?B?b6???V?v??r6?&7V?7F?6W2F?Bv???&WV?&RW2F?&R??v??F?fR?'&fR???vR@?fVVF&6?F?6?6f?&FF3#C?tf?&v???VF??6???#C?v6?6f?&G7VG&???????g'V?B?6????
