March 19 We had great weather as we celebrated St . Patrick ' s Day . We had a sea of green out on the course . Our game was two best balls ( net ) with a special treat . Each group drew a card from the pot of gold to determine how many strokes they got to take off their score . First place went to the team of Bob Sato and Chuck Tuggle . They got lucky on their draw picks choosing the cards of Fred Stone ( net 62 ) and myself ( net 65 ). They didn ' t even need the luck of the Irish when they also got to take three strokes off their game .
We had a tie for second place . Our DFL team was Joe and Debbie Wilhite with Jeff and Marianne Krpan . Their prize was a shamrock towel and shamrock glasses . Its nice to place in the money , but sometimes the DFL prizes are quite a treat . Closest to the pin winners were Joe Wilhite , Chuck Tuggle , Marianne Krpan and myself . Hopefully , everyone is enjoying having two closest to the pin awards . Our sandbaggers of the week were Fred Stone ( 62 ) and Kathy Chester ( 65 ) .
Our Mr . and Mrs . Tournament is April 30th and May 7th . Anyone can play the first week of April 30th , however , only married couples will play May 7th . More information to follow .

March 26 Another beautiful Sunday at Alta Vista . Twenty six players played a format of 1 best ball gross and 2 best balls net . The nice part was that you could use the same person for gross and net . First place went to the team of Mark and Mary Peterson playing with Chuck and Laury Smude . Only 4 shots behind were the team of Ron and Kathy Chester playing with Gary and Lynn Melton . Our Dedicated Fun Lovers were Joe and Debbie Wilhite playing with Yves and Barb Pinkowitz . For their love of the game the prize was bungee cords and crazy glue . It was great to see Larry and Lana Mak out with us again .
Leslie O ' Buch had the best closest to the pin on hole # 2 at 4 ' 3 ". Good job Leslie . Gary Melton won for the men at 20 ' 4 ". Winners on hole # 17 were Ron Chester 38 ' 8 " and Lynn Melton at 28 ' 7 ".
If you have not played in the Sunday Social Group in a while , Ron and I encourage you to get a game and come join us . I can always help with finding partners . If you have never played in the Sunday Social group and want to give it a try , contact me and either the Chesters or Petersons will play with you the first time and introduce you to this crazy , fun group .
