ALTA VISTA COUNTRY CLUB MONT HL Y NEWS L ETTER Sunday Social Group News March 5 We had five groups play yesterday, braving the rain on the back nine. We can't wait for a sunny Sunday! We all know that an eagle is pretty awesome and yesterday we had two! Jeff Krpan drove the green on hole #5 and made the putt for an Eagle. That set Jeff up for a net 64. Chuck Smude also had an eagle on hole #7. Great job guys. First place was the team of Jeff & Marianne Krpan playing with Warren and Leslie O'Buch. The Melton's came in second place with a draw. The dedicated fun lovers (DFL) were the Frecks playing with Lisa Sanders and myself. Congratulations to our closest to pin winners: Tony Williams, Kathy Chester, Gary Melton and Laury Smude. We had a new couple join us this week. They are Tony and Dawn Williams. They are excited about playing on Sundays, so reach out and schedule a game with them. The Chester's had the honor of playing with them and they reported they are a lot of fun. This Sunday we will stay with our March Madness theme. If you need partners or want to come out and play, contact me. March 12 The rain was over and the sun shine was in full force yesterday for our 8 foursomes of golf. We played an easy scoring game of 2 Best Balls for each couple. The twist was that you switched your partner every six holes. Fourteen players shot under par and I did hear some grumbling about "where was that game yesterday?" It just goes to show you the low stress and fun times on Sunday relaxes those of you who played Saturday's 4-man Par Point game. The sunshine brought out some familiar faces that we have not seen for awhile. Thank you to Yves & Barb Pinkowitz, Gary & Susan Smith, and Paul and Cheryl LaCommare. Also, Tony and Dawn Williams returned after playing for the first time last week. Please contact them to schedule a game. As always, if you need help finding partners, get a tee time and call or email me with your time and I will try to get you partners. First place with a low score of 121 (par 144) went to the team of Joe and Debbie Wilhite playing with Larry Burnette and Bob Sato. Only one stroke more was our second place team of Warren and Leslie O'Buch playing with Yves and Barb Pinkowitz. Closest to the pin winners were Chuck Smude, Susan Alderson, Bob Sato and Kathy Chester. Yves and Kathy also had the lowest net score for the men and the women. Next Sunday we are celebrating St Patrick's Day. Gather your green garb and come join us for a POT of GOLD! The course is in great shape and the weather should be very nice.
