Alliance News
Issue 3 Fall 2013
President’s Message
Our Alliance board is made up of a combination of both executive directors
and board members from our member Associations. Besides serving this
Board of Directors, each of us has a very active role, either as an employee
or a volunteer leader of a State or regional women’s golf association. I
know the same is true for most of you reading this newsletter. So you
know how important it is to have a lot of involvement and participation
from your membership in order to accomplish your objectives and present
your programs. In the time since our last publication, we’ve made a couple
of changes to our structure that we hope will help move us forward to
deliver on our purposes: to increase the visibility of our member
associations; and to offer tools and resources to assist them in enhancing
the benefits they are able to provide to their members.
We have added two committees to the board:
- Marketing and Communications, Chaired by Jen O’Brien, Executive
Director of Women’s South Carolina GA. This Committee oversees the
website, the eNewsletter and membership;
- Resource Development, which is charged with developing resources for
member associations, and Chaired by Sheila Dills from Oklahoma WGA.
We need your participation!
This newsletter is the first way we are working to increase your
visibility. You can help with this by contributing articles, sharing
information about the great things you are accomplishing through
your Association and for your members. Let’s make a difference
for each other and women golfers everywhere! And let’s not keep it
a secret any longer. Who knows how many others we can each
inspire by sharing our passion for golf through sharing our
stories?

Volunteer to serve on one of our new committees. We need
leadership from all of our member associations to achieve our
purposes.
If you have not yet connected with your USGA Regional Affairs
Director, your LPGA T&CP Section officers, and your PGA Section
Officers, I urge you to do that. Each of them will be interested in
what you are doing with your Association and your region.

As we near the end of the year, we have already begun to develop
the program for the 2014 WARM Conference, which will be held at
the Holiday INN & Suites on Phoenix Airport North Road in
Phoenix, Arizona. The ultimate in participation is to attend the
conference and share your knowledge and experience. We hope to
see you there!
