Over the past two years throughout my college studies, I have been surrounded by luxury real fur and real leather products. I have always admired the outstanding quality and have recognised how elegant it makes a person feel. However, after diving into the world of research I have discovered that I despise this torturous process of killing animals for fashion. I know that I certainly wouldn't feel anything but guilt if i were to wear a real fur or leather item.
Whilst carrying out research I developed my understanding, and realised that veganism within today's society is becoming more and more popular and the awareness is increasing. However, currently there is very few brands that offer luxury looking faux products for people like myself, who are against the use of real skins and furs within the fashion industry, but still crave that luxury look.
Although some more expensive brands are already introducing sustainability into their collections, my aim is to create a brand that is not only luxury but affordable for my target customer. If this is an option for people, then perhaps faux products would become more popular, meaning a small business like mine could be successful and make an impact in helping the environment.
Not only will 'All Things Faux' sell clothing and accessories but the website will have a Blog section which will provide information and research on new materials that have come to light, which are alternatives to real leather and real fur. As well as this, the blog section will touch on other brands that are introducing sustainability into their collections, as this business idea is not only about making profit it is about raising awareness and reducing poor animal welfare.
The launch of my brand will be held at Madison Terrace Bar and Lounge on the Rooftop, where people can admire the scenery, enjoy the cat walk, meet influencers and learn about the positive impact this collection will have on the environment.
The pathways I have chosen are Marketing and Buying, however, I have included aspects of buying within my studies.
