A rockstar on a xylophone. That mental images entertains my brain.
Needing You Needing Me has two versions on the EP. What was the thought behind that
decision?
Mike: Originally, we had just 5 tracks on the EP. After we had finished up with the recordings,
we had some spare studio time left. Our producer, Mark Morrow of MM Audio in Edinburgh,
came up with the idea to make a stripped back bonus track with the rest of our time. We all felt
like NYNM was the song to use. The bonus track on our EP is just a stripped back version that
shows the song in a whole new light, we love it.
I recently saw The Twilight Sad from Glasgow in concert, opening for The Cure. They
were repping the Scottish music scene pretty hard. Is it a pretty tight musical community?
Do you all know each other?
Aaron: It is and it isn’t. We know a lot of bands from all over the UK, but there is still quite a bit
of competitiveness from some bands that stops good relationships from happening. The music
scene is a hard thing, bands need to stick together to survive.
So, what's on the horizon for Silver Coast?
Aaron: Festivals, tours (UK and further afield), new releases this year, and continuing to grow
our fan base and get our name out there.
Well, if talent has anything to do with it, the fans should flock in. Thanks so much for the
interview, guys. I hope one day to catch a show.
Very welcome, thanks for the shout!
