I'm so into Scottish bands right now. There seems to be a lot of new, innovative, versatile
music coming out of Scotland. There is this incredible confluence of creativity and energy.
So, what's it like to be a part of that?
Mike: It’s great, there are a lot of good bands coming out of here at the moment and I hope it
keeps going.
Silver Coast. It has such a beautiful ring to it. How did you come up with the name for the
band?
Aaron: Thank you! Well it’s one of those band names that doesn’t have a proper meaning to it to
be honest. I was sitting listening to Feeder and browsing some of the venues they had played in
the past. One venue that stuck out to me was a place in Japan called “Studio Coast.” My
signature guitar that I use mostly for shows is a Jagmaster in sparkly silver so it really just
popped into my head “Silver Coast” and that was that, really.
That’s a pretty cool story, actually. Thanks for sharing it. So, you've just met someone
who has never heard your music before. You need to recommend a song for them to listen
to. One, just one. Which one would it be?
Aaron: I’d have to suggest they listen to “Taking Chances."
Why?
