To determine which way up the filter is inserted: For Chunky food blends, place the filter vertically inside such that it fits over the ‘ring’ around the blades in the base of the jug, ensuring that the end with the larger, coarser holes is facing downwards (i.e. nearer the blades). Ensure that the filter is vertical and flat against the bottom before fitting the lid. For a Smooth blend, place the filter vertically inside such that it fits over the ‘ring’ around the blades in the base of the jug, ensuring that the end with the smaller, finer holes is facing downwards (i.e. nearer the blades). Ensure that the filter is vertical and flat against the bottom before fitting the lid. Add your preferred mixture to the jug; all liquids and stocks used must be at room temperature rather than warm or hot. Note: When using the filter, it is recommended that the lid is fitted before adding any ingredients and the ingredients then added through the chute in the centre of the lid. However, ensure the measuring cup stopper is re-fitted before the Soup Maker is started. All liquids used must be at room temperature rather than warm or hot. 6. REHEAT: Previously prepared soup can be reheated in the soup maker. Simply set up the soup maker as previously described and add the cooked soup to the jug ensuring the volume of soup is no less than the minimum and no more than the maximum. Connect the soup maker to the mains power supply and press the ON/OFF button. Ensure the lid and measuring cup stopper are correctly fitted and press the reheat button. The reheat programme will follow the sequence below: Heating-Mixing- Heating-Mixing-Heating This process will continue to follow this cycle until the soup is heated and reaches the optimum temperature of 65°C -75°C and ready to serve. The audible alarm will then sound. The time taken to complete this process will depend on the temperature and volume of the soup added but should take approximately 8-12 minutes. Note: the reheat process is not a cooking function; all soups used in this process must be precooked. It is not necessary to fit the filter when reheating previously cooked soups / foods. 7. BLENDER: The soup maker can also be used as a blender; simply set up the soup maker as before and add your ingredients for blending. Note: it is important that your ingredients reach a minimum depth of 3-4cm so that the safety cutout sensor does not activate, but no more than the MAXIMUM level. It is NOT possible to blend dry ingredients, as the sensor won’t recognise them. Connect the soup maker to the mains power supply and press the ON/OFF button. Make sure the lid and measuring cup stopper are correctly fitted and press the blend button to start the BLENDER programme. The blend cycle is a repeated 15 seconds high-speed blend with a slight rest. To stop the cycle press the BLENDER button again, or press the ON/OFF button.
