The outgoing Royal Court reflects on their time

Albertville has a royalty program with participation in the Minneapolis Aquatennial and the St. Paul Winter Carnival. Each year, junior and senior students compete for the Miss Albertville crown. Opportunities to rub elbows with your local royalty are plenty during the festival. Then, grab some refreshing lemonade from Albertville Royalty at Alex’ s Lemonade Stand on Thursday, June 11, from 4-7 p. m. All profits made will go to Alex’ s Lemonade Stand Foundation to support childhood cancer research. Head to the fire hall from 9 a. m.- noon on Saturday, June 13, where the senior candidates for the royalty court will hand out root beer floats. You can also meet the candidates over a hearty meal later that day at the spaghetti dinner from 4-7 p. m. at the St. Albert Parish Center, 11458 57th St. NE. Tickets $ 10, seniors and children $ 5. Dinner begins 4 p. m. with raffle drawings, candidate introductions begin at 6 p. m. Albertville Royalty will be seen waving in their hometown Grande Day parade Sunday, June 14. The parade begins at 12:30 p. m. The city will then crown its next royal court at 4:30 p. m. Sunday, June 14, during the Albertville Royalty Coronation at STMA High School, 5800 Jamison Ave. NE., St. Michael. The program will also recognize its semi-bicentennial, or 50th year, in Albertville. Tickets to view the coronation are $ 7 at the door. The Crow River News recently spoke with outgoing royalty members. Their responses are below.
Miss Albertville Claire Gonsior What connections have you made through the Albertville Royalty program? How has this impacted you? As Miss Albertville I have made lots of connections with people locally, and from other towns. Audrey and Chloe are people who I would ' ve never thought to reach out to outside of royalty and they are now some of my best friends. The 3 of us really are a great team together. Outside of Albertville I have made an amazing connection with the Princeton ambassadors. They truly represent their community so well and are so amazing to be around. Something people might not know about me: Something other people may not know about me is that I love creating pottery! This started my junior year of high school in a ceramics 1 class( or intro to ceramics) and has since then been something I look forward to daily. My ceramics teacher Mr. Monett has really been

someone who greatly encourages me in ceramics. He helped me realize pottery isn ' t just bowls and plates made on a pottery wheel, but anything you want it to be! After high school I plan to get a pottery studio membership near my college to keep creating! If you can pass along any wishes or words of wisdom to the future Albertville Royalty Court, what would you say? A word of advice I give to the incoming court is to be patient even when you ' re hot, hungry, and fresh out of water. Looking back I now wish that I would ' ve been more in the moment during summer parades! They really do go by so fast! Enjoy time with the new court because by the end you ' ll be wishing for more time!
Albertville Princess Audrey Powell What connections have you made through the Albertville Royalty program? How has this impacted you? Meeting people from other towns has changed me so much because
I never expected some of my closest friends to be from such different parts of Minnesota. Something people might not know about me: Something that people may not know about me is that I am musical theater kid. I love all things singing and dancing and musical. If you can pass along any wishes or words of wisdom to the future Albertville Royalty Court, what would you say? Some advice I want to pass on to future Albertville royalty is to not be afraid to talk to new people. Everyone is a human just like you and you never know, the people you meet might be your best friend!
Albertville Princess Friendly Neighbor Chloe Harris What connections have you made through the Albertville Royalty program? How has this impacted you? Through royalty I have made countless connections. Not just the people in my royal court, but their families as well. I have seen everyone’ s families come together and have learned so much from each individual. I have also met countless inspiring people from different events. Whether it be other royalties or a motivational speaker, I have gotten to meet incredible people through royalty. Whether they gave me a friendship or a piece of advice, everyone I have met through royalty has left a significant impact on me. Something people might not know about me: Something people may not know about me is that I actually love school. I think education is so important in order to grow socially and emotionally as a person. I also just love getting to know the people in my classes and create bonds with my teachers. If you can pass along any wishes or words of wisdom to the future Albertville Royalty Court, what would you say? Something I would like the future Albertville Royalty court to know is that it truly flies by. Even thought everyone says it, it remains entirely true. It feels like just yesterday I was doing the same events that our candidates doing and I cannot believe it has been almost a year since the most important event in my life happened.
Junior Miss Albertville Arielle Sefah What connections have you made through the Albertville Royalty program? How has this impacted you? The Albertville Royalty program helped me make lots of new friends, be brave when talking in front of big groups of people, and gain a whole new family. I love spending time with everyone, and they always make me feel special and loved. Being in Royalty has been so much fun and one of my favorite experiences ever! Something people might not know about me: Something people may not know about me is that I can be very silly and love making my family laugh. If you can pass along any wishes or words of wisdom to the future Albertville Royalty Court, what would you say? Be kind to everyone, have fun, and just be you! Make lots of friends and enjoy all the fun things you get to do! Be ready to take lots of pictures.
Junior Miss Albertville Koriauna Borst What connections have you made through the Albertville Royalty program? How has this impacted you? Because of the Albertville Royalty Program I’ ve had the chance to connect with many people; teachers, families, local leaders, and my family on the court. It’ s helped me grow in my confidence, communication, and awareness. It has also taught me how awesome small moments can be. Something people might not know about me: I love playing soccer and softball. If you can pass along any wishes or words of wisdom to the future Albertville Royalty Court, what would you say? Have fun and enjoy your time. It will go by fast. But you will learn a lot and you will make a lot of friends
