9 live bands to perform at Albertville Friendly City Days
70’ s Magic Sunshine Band
Albertville will celebrate its 38th annual Friendly City Days festival June 11-15, with country and rock bands headlining the live entertainment on the main stage this year.
Live music kicks off Thursday, June 12, with Shirts & Skins taking
the Long Haul Trucking Side Stage from 6-10 p. m. Shirts & Skins is one of the most dynamic touring dance bands in the upper Midwest. Made up of almost 30 members at any given time, this band can offer multiple different lineups for any variety
of venue, music genre or location. Their musicianship, exceptional training and dynamic show will have you captivated from the very first note. Listen to Shirts & Skins’ broad instrumentation and rich vocal harmonies. With a diverse song list, the band hits all genres and musical tastes.
The music will pause for a special presentation by the Albertville Friendly City Days organizers at 8 p. m. The group will formally recognize this year’ s outstanding citizens, Mike and Heidi Potter. More on the honorees inside of this section and in a future edition of the Crow River News.
The performance will run concurrent with the Albertville Fire Relief Association Craft Beer Night from 6-10 p. m. All will be at Central Park, 11400 58th St. NE.
On Friday, June 13, from 6-8:30 p. m., the 70’ s
Magic Sunshine Band will bring the biggest radio hits from the 1970s to the Main Stage. Be transported back to the era of eight-track stereos, polyester and bell bottoms.
Dress up, rock and groove to music from the Bee Gees, Hall & Oates, Elton John, ABBA, Little River Band and much more. Don’ t miss out on the Midwest’ s premiere tribute to the greatest hits of the 70’ s.
For those seeking a range of different music genres to listen to, Fender Bender will perform 7-10 p. m. at the Farmers Market Shelter at Central Park. The band reports it is a five-piece cover band offering a“ crash course in rock and today’ s country.”
Fender Bender will have you on the floor all night long and moving to anything from rock n’ roll, to country, rap and pop.
