Restructuring
WELCOME
This holiday season , I am excited to announce that Alaska CHARR and our two foundations are restructuring ! You read in last issue ’ s letter that our former ProStart Coordinator , BreeAnna Erickson , moved over into a new role with the Ed Fund as its Workforce Development Director . We have made some significant other changes , as well .
Our team is growing so we may provide additional services and enhanced support for you , our members ! With the passage of the alcohol reform bill ( Senate Bill 9 ) earlier this year , we expect a variety of bills this year that will impact the hospitality industry . With that in mind , we are hiring new team members to assist with legislative matters and grassroots coordination .
Our former Receptionist , Bekka Stapley , has been promoted to Alaska CHARR ’ s new Office Manager , and we are currently interviewing for a new Receptionist ( so stay tuned !). Our Gaming Manager , David Daniel , is using his decades worth of knowledge and experience in Alaska ’ s hospitality industry as our new TAP instructor . Our new ProStart Coordinator , Zerin Shield , is also our new ServSafe instructor .
Zerin is a former ProStart student who previously won the Alaska ProStart Invitational and competed in the National ProStart Invitational . Between her intimate knowledge of ProStart and subsequent years of experience working in the hospitality industry , she is the perfect addition to the Dream Team ! Please take a few minutes to read more about Zerin below and introduce yourself whenever you have the chance .

now , it ’ s crocheting a blanket and spending time with my puppy , Demi , and “ my ” cat , Abby . I am so excited to have joined the Dream Team , and look forward to meeting some of you in the future !
