Questioner: We have a lot many
responsibilities in our lives and it is
our duty to fulfill them. In the
process of carrying out these
responsibilities, occasionally
some harsh words have to be
used. Is that considered a sin?
Dadashri: What are the emotions
mirrored on your face when you
utter these words? Are they
pleasant like a beautiful rose? If
there is disgust on your face,
understand that you have
committed a sin. So whatever you
have to say, do so calmly with poise
and without using bitter words.
Speak calmly with love and
understanding, using only a few
words and one day you will win him
over. If you use harsh words, he will
want to enter into confrontation
and you will bind negative karmas.
He too will bind negative karmas
and think, 'you can abuse me while I
am young, but you wait till I grow up.
I shall see you then'. So do not do
such a thing. Instead make him
understand. Love and compassion
will win one day. You might not reap
its rewards immediately so continue
showering your love for some time
and then see its results.
Questioner: What should we do if he
does not understand even after we
have put in our best efforts?
Dadashri: Just shower your love on
him. At the same time you should
also gently try to make him
understand

Love Can Conquer All:
Questioner: What should be done if our suggestions to
help correct someone's mistake results in that person
feeling hurt? How should one resolve the issue?
Dadashri: There is no problem in guiding him. But you
should know how to do it.
Questioner: How should I guide him?
Dadashri: If you tell him, 'Stupid fellow, you are just like a
donkey' won't he feel offended? Doesn't he have self
respect too? If your boss were to tell you the same words
at work, how would you feel? Therefore avoid using such
foul language. You only have to guide him.
Questioner: How should I do it?
Dadashri: Sit with him and tell him gently that civilized
and respectable people do not do such things. You
should talk to him gently and lovingly. Instead, what you
do is beat him and scold him. How can this be acceptable?
Without love there can be no solution. In fact, even when
you grow a plant, you have to nurture it with love. Merely
pouring water over it will not suffice.
