STORY Real Understanding
Mr. Sharad a senior executive at a
national bank was used to shifting at
short notice. His wife along with their two
sons Akash and Nikhil too had gradually
adapted to this nomadic lifestyle. Having
been promoted to the regional headquarters
of the bank located in Baroda, he was
fortunate enough to find a fully furnished
bungalow in the same society where his
classmate, a very dear friend resided. Both
his sons too were enrolled in the same school
where Suruchi, his friend's daughter was
studying. He felt relieved that his family had
settled down prior to his taking charge at the
bank.
They had just settled down in the new
surroundings when it was already their first
day at school. Both Akash and Nikhil were
excited as they had eagerly awaited this day
in anticipation of making new friends.
Dressed in their crisp new uniform, they
waited impatiently for Suruchi who was to
meet them at the main gate of their society.
On seeing Suruchi coming, both the brothers
called out in unison, “Hey, come on. Let's get
going.” Suruchi, a cheerful young girl
studying in Class X, soon joined them. All
three exchanged pleasantries and began
