Once it happened that there
was a terrace party going on in a big
high rise building (50 storeys high).
Residents of the building were enjoying
annual get together amidst music and
food fiesta.
All of a sudden there was a
sharp yell, a young man rushed to a
person dancing madly and said... “Dr.
Paresh, your daughter ran away with
his college boy friend!!”
There was a moment of sudden
silence. On hearing this, the person,
was so much grief stricken that he saw
no point in living anymore. He rushed
to the corner of the terrace and
jumped from the roof to end his life.
While going down, as he
reached floor 40, he suddenly realized
he had no daughter.
As he reached floor 30, he
realized he was not even married.
As he reached floor 20, he
realized that he was not even a doctor.

As he reached floor 10, he realized
that his name was not Paresh... He was
someone else...
Finally he did hit upon the ground
floor beneath and his head was severely
injured causing an abrupt end to his life.
This joke was shared by
Pujyashree few months back in a Satsang.
Well, this is a wonderful lesson for
everyone. This is something which
happens to us every day, every moment.
All the time we ‘respond’ to situations
believing it is happening with us. Whereas
the fact is that it has nothing to do with
us. That I am Mr. X or Y, that I am a
Doctor or an Engineer, that I am Jain or
Christian, that I am Indian or European
etc. all are our beliefs. These are beliefs
just for execution of our worldly desires
and duties. From within we are ‘pure soul’
Unembodied-(Amurt swarup). All these
outer layers in form of our beliefs need to
be pierced so that we realize real self free
from the encumbrances of relative self.
