'to awaken'. It has its origins about
2,500 years ago when Siddharth
Gautam, known as the Buddha, was himself
awakened (enlightened) at the age of 35.

Fundamental Belief: Compassion is a core
value in Buddhism. Followers of this religion
believe in the interconnectedness of all
things and the universality of suffering. Such
interconnectedness makes compassion
empathetic in nature.
Pilgrimages: Lumbini (Nepal). Bodh gaya,
Sarnath and Kusinara (India)
Afterlife Belief: In Buddhism, death is not
the end of life, but rather the door you must
pass through to enter your next
reincarnation.
Hinduism

induism, one of the world’s
oldest religions, is the major
religion of India. Hinduism is a
collection of religious beliefs that
developed over thousands of years.

Deity: 3 main among others (Brahma,
Vishnu, Shiva)
Holy scriptures: Vedas, Upanishadas,
Puranas, Bhagwat gita.
Place of Worship: Temple
Major Festivals: Diwali, Shivratri,
Janmashtami, Ganesh chaturthi.
Fundamental Belief: Hindu religion
recognizes that everyone is different
and has a unique intellectual and
spiritual outlook. Therefore, it allows
people to develop and grow at their
own pace by making different spiritual
paths available to them. On the abstract
level the GOD is satchitanand, Truth,
consciousness and bliss. He exists in the
individual being as aatma.
