Jina - One who conquers his inner enemies like anger, greed, passion, ego, etc. The followers of Jina are known as Jains. When a Tirthankara’s soul is conceived, his mother sees fourteen dreams. A Tirthankara’s soul, even while in mother’s womb, has three types of knowledge namely Matignan, Shrutgnan, and Avadhignan. One year before the time of renunciation, a group of celestial angels come to pay homage to the future Tirthankara. They remind him that the time to renounce the world is arriving.
