A path to promotion and the opportunity to earn excellent pay waits for those who work at Springdale Winnelson.
“ If one of your goals is to build personal wealth, here is a place where you can make that come true,” said President John Coulter.
Winnelson employees can work up through the ranks, Coulter said. The company supplies wholesale parts to plumbing, heating and ventilating and air conditioning companies. The business has two branches in Springdale.
“ I started as a delivery driver,” Coulter said.“ I’ ve worked my way up to President. For people who want a career, we offer so many opportunities.”
Coulter also worked as a plumber’ s helper before moving up to the warehouse, then counter sales, and finally outside sales where he worked to bring in new business.
“ It’ s a progression,” Coulter said.“ The right person could skip stages.”
Austin Goodwin and Cody Luper are attempting to work their way up through the ranks now, splitting time between warehouse work and delivery.
“ I can see that I can advance,” Goodwin said.“ I just need to work hard and take advantage.”
John Coulter’ s son, Michael Coulter, is also trying to follow the path to more responsibilities and better pay. He began working at Winnelson six years ago while in high school.
“ I started here as a summer job,” Coulter said.“ Now it’ s a career.” Coming up through the ranks helps employees learn about the business, Coulter added.
“ You learn about the customers and the product. You see the products in action. That’ s important,” he said.
