The City of Springdale employs 540 people in a wide variety of careers including city and court clerks, information technology specialists, building inspectors, engineers, city code enforcers, animal services workers, public library staff, administrative personnel, mechanics, police officers, firefighters and dispatchers. Many careers with the city are not as limited as similar ones in the private sector, according to Wyman Morgan, City Director of Administration and Financial Affairs.
“ If you work in information technology for some of the big companies, you might do the same task over and over again. At the city, you might do a different task every day,” he said.
City departments rely on a number of clerical and office employees to serve residents. The City Clerk and Treasurer’ s Office is in charge of maintaining city records and financial documents. It also issues business licenses and other permits to residents.
