OVERVIEW
Accessory dwelling units (ADUs), also known as in-law or granny flats,
are smaller living units on a property with a single-family residence.
Given the housing crisis in California, interest in ADUs has reached an
all-time high.
AIA California, in partnership with AIA Central Valley and the AIA
Pasadena & Foothill Chapter, created Plus1House, a new resource that
covers the basics of designing and building an ADU for homeowners.
Attend this session to learn more about ADUs from local experts Bruce Monighan, AIA, City of
Sacramento urban design manager; and architect Gennifer Muñoz, AIA, of Gen M Architecture.
