OVERVIEW
Tour Unity Home, one of AIA Central Valley’s Emerging
Professional design competition award recipients, designed
by Amanda Menschel, Assoc. AIA; Chase Collins, Andrew
Wickham and Robyn Wrobleski, Assoc. AIA of LPA Inc.
The Emerging Professionals competition invited architects and students to use innovation to design tiny
homes or accessory dwelling units for The E49 Foundation’s supportive housing program. Compassion Village
is a grassroots effort led by faith communities to build tiny-home villages on underutilized church properties
throughout the Sacramento region. The vision is to have 15-20 villages. The competition was founded by Kevin
Young, AIA, and the AIACV Emerging Professionals Committee.
