OVERVIEW : Sacramento ’ s 2040 General Plan will be the City ’ s blueprint for how and where Sacramento will grow over the next 20 years . Upon its adoption by the City Council in early 2021 , it will set forth sustainable policies guiding transportation , types of homes available , jobs , entertainment , public safety and much more .
A key aspect of the plan is that Sacramento ’ s neighborhoods will be affordable and inclusive . In this session , the AIA Central Valley ’ s Housing Task Force will host a discussion on how the AIA Central Valley Chapter and the local architectural community can most effectively assist in the achievement of this vision , a vision where Sacramento ’ s neighborhoods are “ Neighborhoods for All ”. Topics to be discussed include : affordable housing , missing middle housing , accessory dwelling units and form based zoning .
