OVERVIEW : This year ’ s Bite of Design program examines the future of restaurants , including changes to restaurant design to meet the needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic .
We ’ ve invited panelists Bruce Monighan , AIA , Urban Design Manager for the City of Sacramento ; Whitney Johnson , interior designer ; architect Craig Hausman , AIA and Clay Nutting , owner of restaurant Canon East Sacramento to discuss how restaurant operation has significantly changed to meet new and evolving state and local health requirements , as well as how design will continue to play a key role in not only meeting current needs , but also shaping the future of the restaurants moving forward .
