STAR Managers Performance Management Duration: One day Pre-course work: Read the following policies before the course: zz Disciplinary Policy zz Capability Policy zz Grievance Policy Overview: zz Understand when to use each policy zz Differences between disciplinary and capability issues zz AH policies and procedures – the one to one process – links to development and performance action planning zz Case studies to practise application of policies zz Responsibilities of managers and HR zz Scenario to apply performance management knowledge zz Diversity and inclusion implications. Objectives: zz Distinguish between conduct and capability zz Identify and tackle potential disciplinary problems zz Explain how to manage hearings related to discipline, capability and grievance effectively. STAR Appraisal Duration: Three hours Overview: Short briefings for managers on the process and how to prepare and conduct the appraisal. Includes SMART objective setting, and career and development planning. Good for new managers and those who aren’t as confident with the process. Objectives: zz Set SMART objectives zz Record learning and development needs (role specific and career or continuous development) zz Apply the scoring system zz Review ‘career succession planning’ (the 9 box grid). STAR appraisals Finance for Non Financial Employees Duration: Three hours Overview: In this workshop you’ll learn how the AH finance functions work, understand delegated authority requirements and how the chart of accounts is organised. You’ll also learn how to interpret and understand income and expenditure for management accounts and how to manage your budgets more effectively. 12 Objectives:: Understand: zz What Finance does zz The functions making up the Finance department zz What delegated authority is and how it applies to your role zz The internal chart of accounts zz Management accounting and how it applies to your role zz Demonstrate how to apply the learning in my role.
