George R.R. Martin's best-selling book series "A
Song of Ice and Fire" is brought to the screen as
HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into
the medieval fantasy epic. It's the depiction of two
powerful families -- kings and queens, knights and
renegades, liars and honest men -- playing a deadly
game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, which was filmed in Northern
Ireland and Malta.
Klaus, the original vampire/werewolf hybrid, returns to New Orleans -- which his family helped
build -- to investigate rumors of a plot against
him, in this spinoff of "The Vampire Diaries." He
finds his former protege, Marcel, reigning powerful over its inhabitants, causing growing tension
in the supernatural community. Klaus' brother,
Elijah, joins him, and they learn that werewolf
Hayley has fallen into the hands of a defiant
witch who has life-changing information. In hope
of reclaiming the city, Klaus and Elijah form an
uneasy alliance with the witches to help further
their cause.
In Beverly Hills, whoever "has the dirt" hold s the
power. In some of the city's wealthiest families,
that power belongs to a close-knit group of
maids who have ambition and dreams of their
own. The maids are brought together by their
jobs, life struggles and the upstairs-downstairs
universe of their employers. Rosie, Carmen,
Marisol, and mother-daughter duo Zoila and Valentina are the women who turn to one another
for support when times get tough, including
when fellow maid Flora is found murdered in her
employers' home and when problems pop up in
the maids' romances and personal lives.
