After the war the displaced and war victims who had fled the war from other parts of the country, settled and made life at the field, but they were asked to eventually leave and had to be relocated to other areas of the city. It took a monumental effort of persuasion by COFA and the Ministry of Youths and Sports after very stiff resistance by the war victims to finally persuade them to vacate the field.
