EXCITING TIMES AHEAD FOR
ZIMBABWE CRICKET
The Zimbabwe national cricket
team has gone through turbulent
waters in recent years. Once
regarded as one of international
crickets’ most promising
powerhouse nations, political,
social and economic meltdowns in
Zimbabwe slowly worked its way
into that arena of life and
hampered the progress of the
national team.
In the nineties and at the turn of
the millennium, the Zimbabwe

national cricket team was easily
paired in the same league as India,
Australia, South Africa and England.
As of December 12th, 2017,
Zimbabwe was ranked 10th in Tests,
10th in ODIs and 12th in Twenty20
Internationals by ICC rankings.
Despite all the upheavals,
Zimbabwe remains a full member
of the International Cricket Council
(ICC) with Test and One Day
International status.
