Jamaican Women’s Bobsled team
made a statement and an appeal for
diversity and the need for young girls of
African descent to see someone like
her on TV competing in the mostly
white dominated Winter Olympics
Games.
The background stories of most of
these athletes says one thing and it’s
that they are athletes first before they
are citizens of any country. Their desire
to take part and prove to the world
that they can do anything they put
their hearts can be juxtaposed with
them using it as a platform to inspire a
younger generation and even their
peers about the Positive Power of
Sports.
