Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. (NIV)

When we reflect on the life of Moses, we see that he lived three different lives: as the son of the daughter of Pharaoh, a shepherd in the desert, and the leader of the children of Israel. As a young man,

Moses would have grown up in the lap of luxury – living in a palace with all the comforts of position.

The world we live in is obsessed with labels and the uncomfortable task of every person finding out who they really are

The world says we are defined by our career, family, social position, and accomplishments. However, this is not how God defines us. When we become children of God, we find our identity and our security in Him (2 Corinthians 1:22)

Moses made the conscious decision not to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He became known for leading the children of Israel out of captivity, he met God face to face on Mount Sinai, and he delivered the Ten Commandments to the people.

Because of what Christ did on the cross for us – dying so that we can live – we can say “No” to the identity the world has for us. We can embrace the identity that God gives us. Take time to read through the Scriptures, and you will see the rich blessings that are there. God can give our lives peace and meaning if we take time to spend with Him.
