DAY 1 Fly to Cape Town
DAY 2 Cape Town On arrival transfer to your hotel .
DAYS 3-5 Cape Town
Three days to explore at your own pace . Sights not to be missed include iconic Table Mountain by cable car ( weather permitting ), the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront , Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and , if time allows , take the ferry across to Robben Island . Consider also visiting the charming towns , villages and estates of The Winelands , particularly Stellenbosch and Franschhoek . DAY 6 Cape Town / Johannesburg
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg . On arrival transfer by shuttle bus to your hotel .
Day 7 Johannesburg / Kruger NP
Early morning shuttle transfer by road to Hoedspruit and onwards to your game lodge on the border of Kruger National Park . South Africa ’ s largest game reserve , Kruger boasts vast landscapes and the most diverse game viewing experience . Truly the flagship of the South African national parks , Kruger is home to an impressive number of species : 336 trees , 49 fish , 34 amphibians , 114 reptiles , 507 birds and 147 mammals .
DAY 8 Kruger National Park
Early morning game drive by open safari vehicle in Kruger National Park with an experienced ranger and tracker . Kruger has more than its fair share of the Big Five – lion , elephant , rhino , buffalo and leopard , so your chances of spotting them are high ! Return to the lodge to relax before a further afternoon game drive . Along with the Big Five watch for hippo , giraffe , zebra , warthog , antelope , wild dog and spotted hyena . Later , feast on South African specialities and share the day ’ s exciting events with fellow travellers .
Day 9 Kruger NP / Johannesburg Return transfer by shuttle to Johannesburg where your tour concludes .

At leisure . If the weather is fair , take the cable car up Table Mountain , hop on a ferry across to Robben Island , soak up the hustle and bustle of the V & A Waterfront or book one of our unmissable experiences to explore further afield ( see page 16 ).
DAY 5 Cape Town / Winelands
Collect your hire car for the short drive to either Franschhoek or Stellenbosch .
DAY 6 Winelands
Perhaps hire a bike and explore some of the many wine estates which adorn the vine-swept landscape . The region is also a top foodie spot , so you ’ re in for a treat .
DAY 7 Winelands / Plettenberg Bay
Savour the passing scenery as you head out of the Winelands and along the glorious Garden Route . It ’ s around a six hour drive , with ample scenic spots to stop for a stroll and enjoy refreshments .
Alternatively , extend your stay with 2 nights at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge ( available from just £ 219pp ).
DAYS 8-9 Plettenberg Bay
At leisure to unwind on the golden sandy beaches . You ’ ll also find bikes to hire , scuba diving or sailing on offer and , at nearby Robberg Nature Reserve , there are a variety of coastal walking trails .
DAY 10 Plettenberg Bay / Tsitsikamma
It ’ s a short 45 minute drive to Tsitsikamma , hailed as the garden of the Garden Route , and an ideal spot to make the most of the great outdoors .
DAY 11 Tsitsikamma
At the stunning Tsitsikamma National Park , adventure seekers can swing from the treetops on ziplines , cross the Storms River Suspension Bridge or take the plunge with a bungee jump . Alternatively , there are walking trails , the option to birdwatch , go horse riding or out in a kayak .
DAY 12 Tsitsikamma / Port Elizabeth
Return your car at Port Elizabeth airport for your onward journey .
