Supporting NSW businesses to switch to electric vehicles
Under the Net Zero Plan to reach net zero by
2050, we are committed to lowering transport emissions through the NSW EV Strategy. This outlines our commitment to ensuring NSW is EV ready.
Our Electric vehicle( EV) fleets incentive provides funding for eligible NSW businesses to buy new battery electric vehicles( BEVs) and chargers under two funding options:
• Kick-start funding
• Competitive bid funding Who is eligible?
The EV fleets incentive supports individual licensed taxi drivers and truck operators, small businesses right through to businesses with large fleets to apply for financial incentives to upgrade to an EV. You can check if your business is eligible by visiting our fleets incentive website or visit our stand at the summit. Chat with our team about which funding option will suit your needs.
What have we done so far?
The NSW Government has awarded nearly $ 50 million in funding, supporting the purchase of over 6,000 BEVs and 2,500 chargers. Almost a quarter of all
BEVs registered for business usage in NSW have been partly funded through our incentives. Make sure your business doesn’ t miss out on accessing the EV fleets incentive, which now supports the electrification of heavy commercial vehicles up to 23 tonnes GVM.
Other ways the NSW Government is supporting electric vehicles
As part of our commitment to reach net zero by 2050, $ 209 million is being invested to create a widespread, world-class public charging network across NSW. This includes co-funding destination charging to help promote regional tourism.
We are also helping apartment buildings become EV-ready, and our VESR tool is making it easy for individuals and businesses to compare tailpipe emissions and fuel costs across over 16,000 makes and models of cars.
