FLEETDRIVE Brunswick Industries Association Our Story W e are a Not-For-Profit charity which provides meaningful employment for adults living with disability by providing a workplace where 100 employees are supported by a small team of dedicated staff to provide quality services and manufacturing for Victorian businesses. We have been in existence for over 50 years and hope to be able to provide our assistance for another 50! The Ute Story We had the ute for 7 years and it was purchased to replace a ford sedan to give a more practical serving vehicle for our business. It was used to move goods but also provide transport of our supported employees who worked at our customers’ premises providing reliable and motivated workers for them. The ute came to the end of its life for use when our supported employees became confident (from our training and development) to use alternative means of transport to get to the work sites. This was great. Also this specific ute was not designed to carry full pallets which we now needed as we offered a new local courier service to our customers (also now operated by our supported employees). We have another ute for that. community and for your fleet Why Kids Under Cover? As with many businesses at present, times are tough and BIA needs to be careful with cash. A vehicle costs insurance and rego, even if it is not being used as much. So we decided to dispose of the ute. The CEO knew of KUC and approached our Board to donate the vehicle to a worthy cause, which also provides great help to less fortunate members of our society, rather than realise some cash. Even if we as a charity cannot use the tax benefits! The Board agreed and the deed was done. KUC provides vital support to youth in potential danger of entering a journey which may lead to other issues of which we at BIA see in later adulthood. You can help us help others If anyone reading this story has a need for our manufacturing or services, it would be great to hear from you so we can continue our work and be able to give employment to even more fantastic people.
