Media Now Des Moines
is a four day summer boot camp
July 6-9 at Drake University in
Des Moines, Iowa for high school
journalism teachers and students that
aims to take their digital media skills
to the next level, for the upcoming
school year and beyond. The goal
is to push their design, writing,
photography, leadership, web and
multimedia skills to the limit with
hands-on instruction and work time
that allows those that attend to
learn and then immediately apply.
Media Now at Drake University will
offer courses in editorial leadership,
InDesign, writing, yearbook, web/
social and photo/multimedia.
Application Deadline: April 24
Cost: $300, housing is an additional
$100, scholarships available

University of Iowa Summer
Journalism Workshops
from July 24-28 at the University of
Iowa in Iowa City offer ten various
workshops such as graphic design,
broadcast journalism, investigative
reporting, photojournalism, sports
media, and more. Students can
choose a workshop that fits their
interests and spend four days
learning about each area in depth
and getting hands on experience.
Advisors can choose from a variety of
courses to take as well.
