HOW TO CHOOSE A
TRAVEL AGENCY
FOR MULTIMEDIA
STORYTELLING
While there are many travel
agencies that take students
to familiar locations like
western Europe, I chose to
work with Peace Works Travel
that specializes in tours to
developing nations that have a
troubled past with the U.S.
Whatever organization you
choose, take a look at how long
they’ve been in business, and
ask for references.
Cost is always important, but
remember that you’ll pay more
that just booking your own trip.
Fees include a full-time local
guide that speaks the language,
and access to important figures
and NGOs willing to work with
students for interviews.

Student Christopher Andrews shoots video footage on a boat in the Mekong Delta. Students had to
be mobile and ready to record at a moment’s notice.
Tate Hildyard sets up a camera to record an interview. Most
students provided their own equipment, but others, like Tate, used
school cameras and microphones.
