Dr . Jacquleen Joseph has an MPhil and PhD in Psychiatric Social Work from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences ( NIMHANS ), Bangalore . She has been with the Jamsetji Tata Centre for Disaster Management at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for seven years ( since its inception ) and is also the Chairperson . Her research , field action and teaching at the centre is around psychosocial care and support in disaster and humanitarian contexts . The Tsunami 2004 , Mumbai Terrror Attack 2008 , Zaveri Bazar Blast 2011 , AMRI hospital fire 2011 & Assam Conflict 2012 are the recent disasters where she continues long term engagement through research and field action in the psychosocial domain . She has been a social work faculty member , before moving into the field of disaster management . Her other areas of interest and work focus on quality institutional care for children , preventive and promotive mental health interventions , tobacco cessation interventions and disaster risk and vulnerability . Dr . Lakshika Liyanage is a Senior Lecturer at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University of Sri Lanka . She holds a Bachelor ’ s Degree in Psychology from the University of Peradeniya , Sri Lanka , and a Master ’ s Degree in Social Work Studies and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Durham , UK . She has more than 12 years teaching experience and has supervised many social work students . Her teaching areas include psychology , social work , social policy and research methodology . Her research interests are in mental health social work , a multidisciplinary approaches in mental health and strengths-based practice in mental health .
