Who Was That Masked Bird?
Get Close to Nature Kayak Paddle
Paddle around Silver Lake on kayaks and
discover why this lake is a gem within the
city. You will learn how to paddle correctly,
get in and out of a kayak easily and safely,
and how to pack for a day on the water. No
experience necessary. Wear shoes that can
get wet and dress in layers for time on the

With 174 species of birds found in Oakdale Nature Preserve, this is a great place to
learn basic skills that will help you identify birds. Class will start outdoors with a walk in
the preserve followed by an indoor review session. Whooooo knows what you might
discover! Class fee includes a book for beginning birders, a checklist of Minnesota birds
and additional reference materials. Bring a pair of binoculars if you can and dress for the

Learn how to create impressive one-of-a-
kind paper that can be used for beautiful
note cards and other creative art projects.
You’ll be able to make as many sheets as
time allows. Take a walk in the park to
collect seeds, bark, grasses, and other
media that will be incorporated into your
paper. Dress for the weather and wear
comfortable shoes as you will be walking

Fly Casting Clinic
Learn how to cast a fly rod or improve your
casting skills in this beginner lesson. Rods,
reels and line provided, but bring your
own if you have one. This class will be held
outdoors rain or shine, so dress for the
weather. You will also learn about the Fly
Tiers Club and places to fish with your new
