FRIDAY

Fitness FUNdamentals

AQUATICS

Levels I & II
Ages: 6 – 12 This class is for the child just learning to swim. Skills taught include: entering and exiting the water, front and back float, front and back kick, front and back glide, bobbing, picking up submerged objects, front and back arm movements, jumping in from the side, treading in chest deep water and water safety skills. Ages: 6 – 12 This class is for the more advanced swimmer. Skills taught include: front and back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and elementary backstroke, swimming underwater, rotary breathing, gliding and floating, treading water, jumping and diving into the water, wearing life jackets, water rescue skills and water safety rules. Ages: 6 – 12 This class is for the child who has successfully completed all previous levels and is looking to

Pre-Competitive Swimming Class
Ages: 6- 12 This class is designed to prepare kids for age-group competitive swimming. Swimmers must be able to complete continuous laps without stopping. The focus of this class will be a structured practice that mimics a swim team practice. Your child will perfect his / her freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. We will also practice diving during this class. Pre-requisite: Swimmer must have participated on a summer swim team. Code: 14409 Sundays, 2:45 – 3:30 p. m. Pre-Dolpholina Synchronized Swimming Class
( Girls) Ages: 7 – 15 This class is taught by one of our very own Dolpholinas synchro team members and is designed to teach the skills necessary to join the synchro team. Skills to be taught include: back layout, front layout, sculls, tucks, verticals and arm movements. Code: 14411 Mondays, 4:15 – 5:00 p. m. October 7- December 2( 9 weeks) $ 81 M / $ 116 NM
Dolpholinas Synchronized Swim Team
( Young Women Only) Ages: 7 – 18 The Weinstein JCC Dolpholinas compete in local, regional and national meets. The girls are taught synchronized swimming skills, sportsmanship and most importantly, teamwork. Season begins Tuesday, September 24, 7:00 – 8:45 p. m Practices are held weekly Tuesday and Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:45 p. m., Fridays, 4:00 – 5:30 p. m.

Dolphin Club Swim Team
Ages: 6 – 18 The Dolphin Club offers both competitive and noncompetitive team options. Please be sure to attend one of two Open Houses for fee structure, practice schedule and to meet the coaches of both teams.( Swim evaluations will be conducted to determine appropriate group.) Previous summer swim league experience is highly recommended before participating. Season begins Sunday, September 8. Private Swim Lessons
Ages: 18 + Available as an alternative to group lessons for those who wish to work one on one with an instructor. Lessons can be customized to meet your swimming needs. All private / semi- private sessions are half-hour. Please call Aquatics management at 545-8640 to set up your lessons. $ 26 M / $ 34 NM( each session) $ 40 M / $ 52 NM( semi-privates each session)
Discover Scuba Course
Ages: 10 + Brought to you by Richmond Dive and Travel, this program offers participants the opportunity to explore a sport that will appeal to his / her sense of adventure. The Discover Scuba program helps participants adjust slowly to this new and exciting water activity. Liability / Medical Waver are required before first class. The next level is the Open Water Diver certification which will be offered at the Weinstein JCC this Spring. Sunday, 10:00- 12:00 p. m. Teen and Young Adult Circle of Friends
Ages 13 – 21 Leader: Andrea Costanzo The Weinstein JCC, in coordination with Jewish Family Services, is offering this exciting social and recreational group for teens and young adults with special needs. The focus is on learning new skills and making friends. This group meets twice a month at the Weinstein JCC or goes on outings in the community. For more information call Melissa Bunce at 545-8658.
