TEEN SERVICES
The Weinstein JCC Teen Services Department provides opportunities for Jewish youth in grades 6 through 12 to develop their leadership potential, interact with peers on a social and interactive level, and foster a positive Jewish identity and commitment, as well as support an atmosphere that promotes personal growth and development. Youth participate in group programs under the supervision of highly trained adult professionals and volunteer staff.
TEEN SERVICES PRESENTS: BBYO
Grades: 9 – 12 BBYO is the world’ s leading non-denominational Jewish youth group. BBYO prides itself on being youth-led, with our members electing their own leaders and planning their own events. We participate in conventions throughout the year with the Tidewater region and several cities within North Carolina. There are also weekly events at the Weinstein JCC on Sunday afternoons. Programming ranges from social and community service to educational opportunities. We also have a competitive boys’ basketball team. BBYO MIT / AIT Convention
Grades: 9 – 12 BBYO’ s New Member convention is a great way to begin your BBYO career. Participants learn some BBYO history, traditions and songs while working with more experienced members on becoming future leaders. This convention is held at YMCA Camp Weaver and is held with all of North Carolina and Virginia Council. Look for registration forms uploaded onto http:// www. erbbyo. com / by late summer, 2013. October 18- 20 Tentative convention cost is $ 170 + Transportation fee( TBD)

BBYO Regionals Convention
Grades 9 – 12 This convention is a gathering of all the cities in Eastern Region BBYO taking place from December 22 – 24 at the Hilton Hotel – Research Triangle Park, NC. TOSS( Tikun Olam SuperStars)
Grades: 6 – 8 Tikkun Olam( Hebrew for“ repairing the world”) is the basis for the TOSS program, which is designed to give middle school-aged youth both a social and community service opportunity monthly during the school year. Not only can TOSS participants earn community service hours, but they will also learn the value and meaning of giving back to the community and engage in a fun social activity to support positive peer relationships. JCC Maccabi Games ® 2014
Ages: 13 – 16( as of July 31, 2013) The JCC Maccabi Games ® are a six-day Olympic-style athletic competition for Jewish teens from around the world. In addition to sports, the athletes experience home hospitality and social events with their peers, as well as community service and educational opportunities. Rockland, NY, Memphis, TN and Houston, TX are the three host cities for the 2014 JCC Maccabi Games ®. Grades 8 – 12( as of Fall 2013) The JCC Maccabi ArtsFest ® is a six-day program designed to inspire Jewish teens from across the country through several areas in the world of Art. The teens focus on a dynamic combination of workshops, performances, exhibitions, community service, social activities and fun.
