CLASS SCHEDULE ELEMENTARY AGE Juniors’ Martial Arts Ages: 8-11 Instructor: Amy O’Brien This program is designed to impart a foundation in Ving Tsun Kung Fu while teaching awareness and self-defense. Juniors’ martial arts is geared toward improving fitness, confidence and self-discipline while incorporating cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength exercises into every class. Code: 15033 Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. October 13 – November 19 (6 weeks) $110 KP / $130 M / $180 NM Class size: min - 4; max - 12 THURSDAY Sports-O-Rama Ages: 5 – 7 Instructor: Nick Pruden With so many different sports classes out there it can be difficult to pin down which to sign up for. Luckily with this class you do not need to choose. In this course, children will get a taste of many different sports. Each week will focus on the skills and development of a different game or sport. Skills to be taught include: Entering and exiting the water, front and back float, front and back kick, front and back glide, bobbing, picking up submerged objects, front and back arm movements, jumping in from the side, treading in chest deep water and water safety skills. Your child will transition to performing these skills independently. Skills to be taught include: Front and back crawl, breastroke, butterfly and elementary backstroke. Swimming underwater, rotary breathing, gliding and floating, treading water, jumping and diving into the water, wearing life jackets, water rescue skills and water safety rules are emphasized. Your child will independently swim continuous laps. Skills to be taught include: Front crawl, back crawl, breastroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke and sidestroke. Floating, treading water, surface dives, diving from the side, swim turns, fitness swimming techniques and water safety are introduced. Your child will gain valuable stroke techniques and strive to advance to the swim team. Code: 15047 Sundays, 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. October 12 - December 7 (8 weeks) $85 M / $135 NM (No class November 30) Code: 15048 Mondays, 4:15 – 5:00 p.m. October 13 - December 1 (8 weeks) $72 KP / $85 M / $135 NM Pre-Competitive Swimming Class Ages: 6 – 12 This class is designed to prepare kids for age group competitive swimming. Swimmers must be able to complete continuous laps without stopping. The focus of this class will be a structured practice that mimics a swim team practice. Your child will perfect his/her freestyle, backstroke, breastroke and butterfly. We will also practice diving during this class. Pre-requisite: Swimmer must have participated on a summer swim team before participating in this class and be above Level III and IV swim skills Code: 15049 Sundays, 2:45 – 3:30 p.m. October 12 - December 7 (8 weeks) $85 M / $135 NM (No class November 30) Code: 15050 Wednesdays, 4:15 – 5:00 p.m. October 15 - December 3 (8 weeks) $72 KP / $85M / $135 NM Pre-Dolpholina Synchronized Swimming Level 1 Class (Girls) Ages: 7 – 15 Instructors: Bladen Sisk & Rebecca Sherman This class is taught by two of our very own Dolpholinas synchro team members. This class is designed to teach the skills necessary to one day join the synchro team. Skills to be taught include: back layout, front layout, sculls, tucks, verticals and arm movements. Code: 15051 Mondays, 4:15 – 5:00 p.m. October 13 - December 1 (8 weeks) $72 KP / $85 M / $135 NM Pre-Dolpholina Synchronized Swimming Level 2 Class (Ladies Only) Ages: 9+ This class is taught by one of our very own Dolpholinas synchro team members, and is designed to teach the advanced skills necessary to join the synchro team. Skills to be taught include: Strength endurance, proper stretching techniques, lap swimming, back layout, front layout, sculls, tucks, verticals, proper arm movements and completion route.
