EVENTS Event Series BOATING IN THE PARK July 21, Aug. 4 & Aug. 18 • 12pm-4pm Venture out and enjoy the beauty of Lake Ellyn in a canoe, kayak, or pedal boat. Instructions can be given on dry land. Just $5 per boat for a 20-minute rental. (md) JAZZ IN THE PARK Wed., August 7 • 6:30pm-8pm • Free Held at Sunset Park Celebrate the end of summer and the Glen Ellyn Public Library’s 'Game On: Summer Challenge' with giant games like Connect 4, Jenga, checkers and more! This event is open to all ages, from kids who love games to adults that are kids at heart. (jm) July 24 at Newton Park August 21 at Lake Ellyn Park Enjoy free live concerts by the Glen Ellyn Jazz Ensemble, a 16-member group, from 7pm-9pm. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and picnic dinner. In case of rain or severe weather, the concert will be cancelled. Please note, no alcoholic beverages are allowed in the parks. (jr) MOVIES IN THE PARKS Watch a free movie in the park, enjoy a special pre-movie activity, and dress like your favorite character from the film for a costume contest. Rain Date: Friday, Aug. 16. ALICE IN WONDERLAND Wed., August 14 • Maryknoll Park Pre-movie activities at 8:15pm, movie will begin between 8:30-9pm. 6 PUPcorn & a Movie Friday, September 13 • ~7:15pm Held at Spring Avenue Dog Park Watch a showing of “A Dog's Way Home” with your best four-legged friend. Dogs must be leashed once the movie begins. You do not need to be a dog park member to attend, however your dog must be up- to-date on vaccinations. Movie will begin at dusk (~7:15pm).
