Reviews for 'The KID'
“The Kid” is a black and white silent film which mixes comedy and drama. It is the first silent film I have ever seen and I have enjoyed it much more than I thought. All the actors were absolutely brilliant. The role of the kid is very well played by Jackie Coogan. Although he is a little child, he is always very expressive with all his movements. And I would also say that especially Chaplin has the ability to make us laugh, even in the saddest moments of the film.
I recommend “The Kid” to everybody. It‛s charming, really funny and quite sad in some moments, but everybody will enjoy it until the last minute. This is the first silent movie I have ever seen and it has been very funny and entertaining. (Yoel Curbeira, 15)
I had never seen a silent movie before and I expected something more boring, but it surprised me! I enjoyed the movie a lot. The film transmits feelings easily and it’s too easy to understand. I really like the mixture of drama and comedy. I was surprised by the genius of the movie throughout the 60 minutes that it lasted and the role of the kid.

It’s a moving film! I will see it many more times for sure! (Gema Acea, 15) I think this film is so sweet. Charles Chaplin played his job with patience and love, yet the role of the woman was so bad, I think she couldn't interpret it on its full version. On the other side, the boy was fantastic. His face and body expression can move you. In my opinion, this film is very old but everybody may like it from people in the 20s to people in the 21 st century. (Inés Ricoy, 15)
