Montgomery is the president of the Anoka-Hennepin Retired Educators Association and also serves as a director for the statewide organization. Community Education senior program coordinator recognized Michelle Trelstad, director of Community Education, recognized Diane Tich, senior program coordinator with Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE), with the Minnesota Community Education Association State Project Award for the Child Care Collaborative program. Anoka-Hennepin adult learning program coordinator earns national award Michelle Trelstad, director of Community Education, presented Noella Fath-Cutter, Community Education coordinator with the adult learning program, the 2019 Best Programming Award- Learning Resources network (LERN). The award was presented to 20 school programs throughout the nation. Anoka High School senior receives state art award Anoka High School senior Katelyn Karrow was presented with the Art Educators of Minnesota Spotlight on the Arts award for excellent work in an arts essay. Anoka High School junior earns all-state recognition in music Timothy Hauser, music teacher at Anoka High School, presented junior Sophie Olson with all-state ranking from the Minnesota Music Educators Arts Association. Anoka High School band marches to state championship Anoka High School (AHS) marching band directors Anders Rahkola, Joshua Jacobo, and Timothy Hauser, recognized the 65 students in the AHS marching band for earning first place in the Minnesota Marching Band state championship in October. Trio of Anoka High School choir students named all-state Anoka High School seniors Kitri Lindberg and Sean Callander, and junior Olivia Huskey were recognized for earning all- state recognition through the Minnesota Music Educators Arts Association. Crooked Lake Elementary teacher earns regional citizenship award Sam Anderson, principal of Crooked Lake Elementary School, recognized fifth-grade teacher Stacy Johnson for earning the 2018 Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher award at the regional level. Johnson’s dedication to teaching citizenship education topics and upholding U.S. history and traditions in the classroom led her to receiving this distinguished honor. 1
