Coon Rapids High School Advanced Placement scholars recognized
Annette Ziegler, principal of Coon Rapids High School, presented six seniors who achieved high honors in the Advanced
Placement program. Theresa Pham was named an AP Scholar with Distinction, granted to students who receive an
average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. Kha Pham earned AP
Scholar with Honors, granted to students who receive an average score of 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of
3 or higher on four or more exams. Benjamin Hanson, Kaitlyn Haupt, Mackenzie Nash, and Nicholas Terebayza, were
named AP Scholars for completing 3 or more exams with an average score of 3 or higher.
Coon Rapids High School choir students recognized for achieving state honor choir status
Rick Geiger, music teacher at Coon Rapids High School, recognized three students for making ACDA-MN 9/10 Honor
Choir: freshman Kate Garbow, and sophomores Daniel Rupert and Jacob Spetzman.
Mensink earns Academic All-American for speech and debate
Annette Ziegler, principal at Coon Rapids High School (CRHS), along with Matt Severns, English teacher at CRHS,
presented senior Logan Mensink for being named Academic All-American by the National Speech and Debate
Association.
Coon Rapids High School HOSA
Annette Ziegler, principal at Coon Rapids High School, presented eight students for high achievement at the Minnesota
State HOSA competition: Angela Belous, third-place in epidemiology and job seeking skills; Briana Clifton, first-place in
human growth and development, and second-place in pathophysiology; Valerie Christoferson, second-place in veterinary
science, and dental terminology; Kauthar Al-Khiqany, Sena Geleto, Julie Vue, and Miranda Young, third-place for original
medical invocation; and Trinity May, third-place in photography.
Coon Rapids High School DECA teacher earns lifetime achievement award
Annette Ziegler, principal at Coon Rapids High School (CRHS), honored Blake Bodenburg, business teacher and DECA
advisor at CRHS, with the DECA Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor presented to an advisor through DECA.
Coon Rapids High School DECA students recognized
Blake Bodenburg, business teacher and DECA advisor at Coon Rapids High School, presented 14 students that placed
and received awards at the DECA state competition. Seniors Ryan Kemp, Ellen Leciejewski, Sydney Soczek, and
Maja Gonzalez; Juniors Megan Cosman, Jesus Genis Tlaseca, Brynn Nguyen, Sara Abbas, and Kenneth Batiste; and
sophomores Josie Ingvaldson, Megan Schultze, Emily Holloway, Salam Hijazi, and Uyen Nguyen.
Oak View Middle School choir students make state honor choir status
Gary Lundeen, principal of Oak View Middle School (OVMS), along with Beth Olson, OVMS music teacher, presented six
students that made ACDA Minnesota State Honors Choir. Sixth-graders Lila Epp and Julia Ogren; Seventh-grader Ava
O’Brian; and eighth-graders Cayla Abercrombie, Jordyn Hirte and Zach Zaudtke.
