Turkish Cinema

“The Cut” is a German film shot in Turkey; the film is set in Mardin in 1915. The main character is Nazaret who works in a blacksmith’s. One night the police go to his house to arrest every Armenian person there, so he is separated from his family.

After some months working on a road for the army, he is captured by bandits. Unfortunately, he becomes mute so he can´t talk for the rest of his life, but he succeeds in escaping. Finally he looks for his daughters and wife undergoing hard situations on the journey.
