Mobile Studio told me that he would be back with his band after his set. As great as the day had gone, I was looking forward to recording the next big hit. After the show was over, I knew that’s when the musicians would come out to play. When the last song was played on stage and the crowd cleared, the moment had finally arrived. I knew that soon artists from all over would be rushing to their campsites, grabbing their guitars and looking for a good place to jam. I hoped that for some, that place would be the mobile studio. It was not as easy as I expected. I failed to realize that many artists still didn’t know that there was not only an awesome place to jam, but a perfect place for a live, intimate recording session. As I stood outside watching the inebriated pass by I came up with a game plan; Look for folks carrying a guitar case and chase them down. The method proved to be effective. It wasn’t long before I had my first recording artist in the mobile studio. Much like ADR’s In-House Studio the atmosphere was created for the artist. We would sit down, chat about music, pick around, have a drink and a smoke, until the moment was right to start recording. Josh Halverson was the epitome of the artist that I sought out to record in the new studio and the perfect person to kick things off for the week of recording sessions. His laid back mentality, free-spirited, philosophy and powerful soul-piercing songs were followed by many others that I would soon meet, record, and become another one of their personal fans. Late night sessions continued throughout the week, and various talent dropped by to lay down some tracks. Things were going great, but business was starting to slow down. It was about 4am and I was getting ready to shut down. I stepped out for one last look. Acoustic Drive | 17
