UPCOMING EVENTS Housing Makeover Projects - Now to January 2014 We need your help! Due to special circumstances, ACHIEVEability will have an unusually high number of vacant homes in the coming months. We urgently need the help of your team, company, family, professional association, religious group, etc. to volunteer by painting and cleaning our properties. Giving Tuesday - December 3, 2013 Giving Tuesday is a campaign to create a national day of charitable giving at the start of the annual holiday season. Please consider participating in our 1st annual Giving Tuesday Celebration by supporting our organization during the week of December 2nd. Thanksgiving Dinner Drive - Now to November 26, 2013 Help ACHIEVEability parents and West Philadelphia residents by providing complete Thanksgiving dinners to our families, including the turkey and all the fixins’. Holiday Gift Drive - Now to December 13, 2013 Help our families have the best holiday season possible! You can offer your support by fulfilling the wishes of a child by buying gifts from his or her wish list. Tax Preparation - January 2014 to April 2014 Tax season is right around the corner and we can use your help. Please consider volunteering your time to help the ACHIEVEability Community Office to provide free federal and state preparation services for members of the community. Training will be provided to volunteer tax preparers. Food for Thought - Saturday, March 22, 2014 Join ACHIEVEability for our signature event, Food for Thought. This exciting evening features top chefs and restaurants in the Greater Philadelphia area, unique auction items, games, live music and much more. A core group of energetic young leaders have united to lead the Joey Novielli, pictured far left, with his Young Friends. Young Friends of ACHIEVEability in spreading the word about ACHIEVEability and organizing events for “the younger crowd.” Through their efforts more than 200 young professionals raised nearly $5,000 for ACHIEVEability. Their “Sip, Socialize and Serve” events are getting more popular with each event. So, whether it is to “party with a purpose” or support our various donation drives, check out the ACHIEVEability website to learn more about upcoming Young Friends events. We would like to thank the organizing committee and also take this opportunity to note the passing of dedicated volunteer and ACHIEVEability Young Friend, Joey Novielli III. Joey was a tremendous blessing to our organization for his volunteer activities and his passion. ACHIEVEability will always cherish Joey’s commitment to our ag ency and we have created an award in his honor.
