Michael J. McBride, FACHE
Division SVP and President,
Suburban Hospitals
With more than 25 years of healthcare administration
experience, Michael McBride joined CHI St. Luke’s
Health as President of Suburban Hospitals in November
2015. His responsibilities include administration of
CHI St. Luke’s seven suburban hospitals The
Woodlands, Lakeside, Sugar Land, Patients Medical
Center, The Vintage, Springwoods Village and
Brazosport Regional Health System. He works closely
with the leadership teams, medical staff and governing
boards of these hospitals. Additionally, Mr. McBride
has division-wide responsibility for ambulatory strategy
and local oversight of Facilities Management and
Planning, Design and Construction.
Prior to joining CHI, Mr. McBride served as President
and CEO of St. Mary’s Hospital and Regional Medical
Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. St. Mary’s is a
part of Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health (SCL).
He also served fifteen years with CHRISTUS Health,
including eight years in San Antonio where he served in
a number of operational roles of increasing
responsibility, ultimately as Regional Vice President
with multiple hospital accountabilities. During his
career in Catholic healthcare, he has consistently
accomplished year-over-year improvements in patient
safety, employee safety, clinical quality and patient
satisfaction.
Mr. McBride earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Economics from Baylor University in Waco, Texas,
and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration
from Trinity University in San Antonio. He completed
his Administrative Residency with Methodist Hospitals
of Dallas.
Mike and Lesli, his wife of nearly 30 years, have four
grown children and three grandchildren (so far). If he is
not working, he is likely spending time with family or
running.
